About

The 2024 Experience

We’re planning to make DC Early EdX 2024 bigger and even better. By participating, you’ll:

  • Earn professional development hours and learn skills to improve your practice
  • Expand your professional network
  • Help improve early childhood education in the District
  • Celebrate yourself and your fellow early childhood educators

DC Early EdX 2024 will be an in-person-only event! Unlike previous years, there will be no virtual content. The event will take place on Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC. More details are coming soon. In the meantime, check out these highlights from last year’s event!

What is DC Early EdX?

The DC Early Educator Experience is an event that connects early childhood educators and professionals in the District of Columbia whose work serves young children — from birth through age eight — for learning, networking, advocacy, and celebration.

Early childhood educators, teachers, assistant teachers, administrators and principals give so much of themselves every day to support the learning and development of D.C.’s youngest residents. DC Early EdX is an event by educators, for educators — opening the opportunity for these professionals to decompress, connect with and learn from each other, raise their voices, and celebrate the important role they play for children, families and the entire community.

Established in 2021, the DC Early Educator Experience is an annual event that is held in April — during D.C.’s Month of the Young Child. DC Early EdX is powered by the Bainum Family Foundation and hosted by four practitioner-led organizations — District of Columbia Association for the Education of Young Children, District of Columbia Head Start Association, D.C. Family Child Care Association, and the Multicultural Spanish Speaking Providers Association.

We hope to see you in person next year, but DC Early EdX 2022 is virtual. Active participation is required to earn six professional development hours. Therefore, participants will need to be at home or away from their work environments to fully engage in this experience. For materials to support a Professional Development Day, visit our Resources page.

For the best experience, we encourage participants to join on a computer or tablet, but you can also join on a mobile phone. Once you register, we will email you detailed information about how to join the celebration. Register by March 31, and you’ll receive a special educator appreciation gift box. (And they’re pretty cool, if you ask us!)
